Offshoring gives way to nearshoring
Finding good IT professionals was already a task in the 2000s. A lot of European companies subsequently placed their projects with overseas development teams. In theory, the to-do’s were checked off and the price under control. In practice, collaborating with Asian developers among others was not so obvious, because of different time zones, languages of communication and working cultures. Although the offshore teams were highly motivated, the European quality requirements could not be met … Such experiences have led to prejudices about nearshoring among some companies, which we would like to dispel.
Nearshore, what’s in a name?
Today, European companies are still searching for IT experts, although we are not looking that far anymore. Delta Source has been applying nearshoring since its inception and would never have wanted it any other way. Our mix of Belgian and Bulgarian IT professionals differs substantially from traditional offshoring. After all, those doing nearshoring are (almost) in the same time zone, share similar language skills and have similar technological training. Quality is key!
