Also, the singing choir Reflection suffered from this during preparations for the World Choir Games, the Olympic Games for choirs. Rehearsing online during times of lockdown proved impossible, as the small but very audible delay led to an unbearable cacophony. Not ideal when an international competition is scheduled. KoorStem vzw, World Choir Games 2021 and Delta Source put their heads together and came up with a solution: MusicBox.
Research Center imec selected a user-friendly hardware solution with a real-time sound card and connections for microphone and headphones or amplifier. Delta Source developed the real-time audio software for MusicBox and associated cloud applications. Our collaboration did not go unnoticed, even making national news!
Today, MusicBox makes it possible for choirs, musicians and music teachers to rehearse together remotely, without delay one while maintaining good sound quality.
